Marine Corps League Department of Maine

The purpose of the Marine Corps League is to join together in camaraderie and fellowship to preserve the traditions and promote the interests of the United States Marine Corps. The Marine Corps League perpetuates the traditions and spirt of all Marines and Navy FMF Corpsmen and FMF Navy Chaplains, who proudly wear or have worn the Eagle, Globe and Anchor of the Corps. It takes great pride in crediting its founder in 1923 to Major General Commandant John A. Lejeune. It takes equal pride in its Federal Charter, approved by an act of the Seventy-Fifth Congress of the United States of America and signed and approved by President Franklin D Roosevelt on August 4, 1937.

The Department and its seven detachments participate in community activities like Toys for Tots, Wreaths Across America, Quilts of Valor, Boothbay Vets (Veterans Emergency Temporary Shelter), scholarships, parades, honor guards, Marine Corps birthday celebrations, and veteran support.

The Marine Corps League Department of Maine is a 501(c)4 organization.
