Department of Maine Scholarship
The Marine Corps League Department of Maine Scholarship program is awarded annually (based on available funds/donations) to qualified individuals who are pursuing full time graduate or undergraduate studies, technical training, performing arts or post-secondary education at an accredited learning facility.
To be eligible for consideration:
1. Applicant must be a resident of the state of Maine (verification may be requested and validated by a valid Maine BMV Driver's license or Identification card).
2. Applicant must be sponsored by a member in good standing of the Marine Corps League Department of Maine, which includes the Department of Maine Detachments.
3. Application must must be received by the Department of Maine by April 1st.
4. Application must include three (3) supporting items:
a. A copy of your acceptance letter to your selected college/post-secondary education facility.
b. Your most recent transcript (high school or college/post-secondary school). You may substitute a transcript with a copy of your DD214 as appropriate.
c. You must include a written essay size 12 font, single spaced, typed, essay of introduction, identifying personal accomplishments, achievements, and your educational or career goals. Length should be no more than of two pages, formatted as stated above.
5. Applications and supporting documentation should be mailed to: Department of Maine

6. Applicants selected should receive their scholarship by June 30th.
7. Applicants selected may be required to attend a local Marine Corps League Detachment meeting for the presentation of the the scholarship check.
8. By accepting the scholarship, applicants consent to their first name, town and image being used for promotional purposes by the Marine Corps League, Department of Maine (including its individual detachments).
